Call for PSU Student Art Submissions: 6th Annual Juried Exhibition


Submission to an art exhibition involves a self-editorial process. An artist is called upon to survey their recent works, and ultimately, to decide what stays and what goes. The process of selection by the artist is an act of curation that will impact their own selection by the exhibition curators. For students, this self-editorial act can be as educational as the work itself.

The Littman Gallery is pleased to present its 6th Annual Juried Exhibition. Every year, the Littman staff extends an invitation to the students of Portland State University to submit completed works that they feel best represents their art practice. For each juried exhibition, the Littman Gallery’s curatorial staff invites art professionals from outside the PSU community to collaborate on selecting works to be included in the annual exhibition. This year our jurors will be Coco Madrid, Eden Redmond and Josephine Zarkovich.

This call for submissions is open to all PSU students, of any major, class standing or status. If you are interested in submitting work for consideration, please follow the below guidelines:

  • Limit of 3 artworks per artist

  • For each piece of artwork you are submitting, include the following information in the body of the email

    • Title

    • Year created

    • Media

    • Dimensions (height x width x depth) or duration (for performance or video)

  • Please name your image files as follows: Last name_title of piece

  • Images of your artwork should be a jpeg or tiff file of good quality. Please also crop your photos so only the artwork is included in the photo

  • If you are submitting 3D work (sculpture, installation, etc.), you may submit 2 photos of each piece

  • For video work, please submit a link to the video on either YouTube or Vimeo

  • We are accepting performance pieces. If you would like to submit a performance piece, please send us a video or up to 3 images of the performance, and/or a detail description outlining your plans for the piece

  • If your work has any special installation requirements or needs A/V equipment that you cannot provide yourself, please include a statement describing your needs and ideas in the body of your email

Submission can be emailed to Littman + White at with the subject line JURIED EXHIBITION.  Submissions will be accepted through 11:59 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2018.


Coco Madrid is an arts and fashion writer and is an recent recipient of PICA’s Precipice Award

Eden Redmond is an artist, arts writer, and current Program Assistant for the Art Gym at Marylhurst. She formerly held positions as Communications Manager for Art Practical and Assistant Curator at the La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley, CA.

Josephine Zarkovich is the co-director at Portland Pataphysical Society, editorial director at 60 Inch Center and curator at Linfield Gallery
