Artist Biography

The primordial creative forces pushing life forward also influence his hand. Throughout the chaos in the beginning of his life creative energy steadily put things in order. Daniel “Danish” Hernandez Sandoval started as a graffiti writer over fifteen years ago and picked up a brush and other media a couple years into that. His process is now an ever-evolving endeavor to express his inner experiences and inspirations.

Artist Statement - Daniel Hernandez Sandoval

“This body of work is a physical manifestation of my inner dedication to the powers of creation. Through the focused process of painting, drawing, and observation I’ve managed to consistently create, despite the always-present multitude of options to choose otherwise. Using a juxtaposition of refined geometric patterns and loose abstractions as metaphor, I observed the ideas of opposites, unity, and a balance between chaos and harmony. Recognizing these concepts present in everything, I decided to contribute my time and energy to the constructive/generative side of the polarities. It is my hope that these pieces serve as visual representations of a movement towards a harmonic resonance instead of vice versa.”
